leap day surprise

Every day is a gift, I believe, and tomorrow is leap day, an extra gift.

This week Shari asked what we were planning to do with this special day.

Alicia and I want to offer two of our favorite diptychs to you at a special price during this one day sale. She and I both love making art and want others to enjoy art in their lives and homes. So we hope you'll stop by the shop tomorrow and snap up a pair either for yourself or as a gift for someone else.

what are your thoughts for leap day?

yesterday

yesterday in the studio : some things don't change, graphite, watercolor, colored pencil on paper, 5" x 7"

...I made a few watercolor drawings
...I poked holes into patterns
...ate some oatmeal millet cookies
...bought a new artists' book

It was a good day.

Shari's inspiring post {has me thinking}.
Sarah got her press.
Helle has finished the Rubbish Vortex.

It was a very good day.

How was yours?

golden morning

{waking up and looking at the rising golden sun : reflecting on the moon}

Good morning,

I want to thank you all for the comments you left on my last post. When I got home Friday afternoon, after a loooong day of teaching, and plunked down and read them, I suddenly felt elated! Thank you for sharing bits of your thoughts and bringing so much to this space. Thank you too, to you shy folks who visit here quietly. You too, are so appreciated.

Today I'm anxious to get into the studio, it feels like one of those mornings when I'm at an artist residency. The day is golden, and so full of promise. I did a lot of 'thinking' this weekend about my work and feel somewhat resolved now and like a weight has been lifted. I'm so excited to work today!!

Later this week {and maybe into next week} Jen and I will be showing you new work for our Inspired collaboration, I can't wait to share that with you!

Friends, I hope your Tuesday is golden,
Heather

wishing for green

I'm hugging my coffee cup this morning as I type to you because I'm sleepy from coughing throughout the night. Also I worked late in the studio. I don't feel bad {Mom, so don't worry}, it's just a dry cough.

All this green makes me feel spring will be here again soon. We ordered a bunch of seeds this week for our garden. I like how snow brightens up the grey of winter, {we had more snow yesterday} but my eyes {and spirit} are eagerly awaiting the color of spring. How about you?

I hope you have a bright and colorful weekend,
Heather
