I hope you're having a lovely Saturday

This morning I went out and picked a handful of daisies. The blooms on their long stems were swaying in the breeze, lawn mowers were motoring in the distance, the birds singing, the sun warm on my face, and at that moment it all felt peaceful and divine.

I hope you're having a lovely Saturday,

ps. I know I said I would turn comments off for a while, well when they're off I miss you. Yet I don't ever want you to feel stressed to leave a comment so availability will be intermittent around here this summer, purely based on my daily whims. Is that ok?

making me happy

Going for walks on these lovely days and noticing things {shadows and light on the gravel path, a blurry reflection in a shop window, colorful laundry on a neighbor's line, and a row of poppies} around the neighborhood is making me happy lately.

What is making you happy today?

Happy Friday!

poppytalk print faves

Hi,

I just returned from downtown and picked up some poetry books from the library. I tried reading and walking at the same time but found the movement underneath the pages distracting. However I read one particular poem by e.e. cummings that I recited over and over in my mind the remainder of the way home. Now I'm sitting here at the computer and one of my cats is licking my arm raw; I'm waiting for him to bite me.

Anyway, I want to share a sampling of my summery favorites from the current Poppytalk Handmade Market, Paper Pops! There's so much goodness over there to find, I hope you'll go find your own favorites.

clockwise from top left :

* citrus letterpress booklets by The Petite Press {these really couldn't be any sweeter!}
* island village gocco print by Susan Schwake
* spirograph cards by Blackbird Letterpress
* Rain Rain Go Away silkscreen print by Sub-Studio
* tiny cities cards by Stephanie Levy
* letterpress cherry red bicycle by Bittersugar

Now, I believe there are some unruly weeds waiting for me in the garden,

jotters

Hi,

It's kind of drizzly and cool here today, more like a springtime day rather than summer. I'm ok with it because I've been busy working on this batch of jotters. And somehow I feel as though I've been moving in s l o w m o t i o n all day {stitching, cutting, tying, wrapping, all those details, etc.} while the hours zip by. Crazy! Anyway, I'm not complaining because I'm doing what I love. Anyway, I added a handful of new jotters {with imagery of derby car kids, bulldogs, record players, roosters, roses, antique cars and bikes, dancing ladies and gents, tires, and lots of blind embossing} to the shop this afternoon.

Tomorrow I hope to share some of my favorite picks from the Paper Pops! Poppytalk Handmade Market.

I hope it's sunny over your head today,
H

this afternoon

Howdy,

I just finished cutting and trimming the paper for some jotters {using these prints I made last week} which I'm hoping to have ready for the shop tomorrow. Next I will stitch them all together, round the corners, stamp my shop info on the inside back cover, photograph and package them. This is another fun batch.

Currently enjoying one of my favorite snacks : ramekin full of raw almonds, chocolate chips, and dried cranberries.

And I am wondering how on earth it got to be 4:30 in the afternoon already?!

I hope you're having a great Tuesday,
H
