a little giveaway

a giveaway } "one gentle breeze", graphite, watercolor, letterpress blind embossing on paper, 2.5 in. x 3.5 in.

Hi,

There's no question that I love making things; to draw, paint and print. I also like for people to have all kinds of original art around them to see and be inspired by daily. By making pieces small, affordable and yet special enough for framing, I feel I can help get art into people's hands.

I am excited to offer art cards again in my shop {surprise!} as it's been over six months since I've had any single pieces available. However, this may only be for a limited time before I return to subscriptions.

So, to kick things off today I will be running a surprise giveaway {because it is fun to give art} of the art card shown above along with a few other handmade goodies. Simply leave a comment below by tomorrow, Wednesday {feb. 25} at 7pm. cst. to be entered in the random drawing. I will announce the recipient on Wednesday night.

If you would like to see more, I just listed two other new art cards, "echo study" and "a golden reflection" along with a new {whisper} piece.

Something I've been thinking about but haven't decided upon is for each art card purchased in my shop I would like to donate 5% of the profits to a charity organization. But which charity? There are so many deserving ones and my heart has a hard time deciding. If you have a specific charity near and dear to you, please let me know in your comment.

Thanks for stopping in today to check out the little surprise I hinted about and thank you for always being so kind and supportive here. Did you have any idea what the surprise was?

our weekend

Good morning,

We had a nice weekend and I hope you did as well.

Above are glimpses of our goings on, I'll share more about a few of them throughout the week.

I worked on a new arrangement : watched the birds soar : painted some new ideas : made a cottage loaf : M. turned the soil and planted two rows of peas : and we made a big yummy batch of vegetable soup.

I'm trying to resist having a slice of that bread right now and save it for our soup leftovers, but I may not be able to do it. We also made french toast Saturday morning from homemade bread and some chocolate chip cookies from my recipe {that I am always tweaking}. So we really had a lot of food going on this weekend, and I'm ok with that.

My personal goal for this week is to focus. We'll see.

Tomorrow, a surprise. {there's a clue in one of the photos}

soaring

another from yesterday

spring has bitten me ever so sweetly with it's tempting yellows and birds soaring across blue skies. it has me dreaming of warm soft breezes, kites flying, lilac blossoms and green, green grass.

but not quite yet. so we will wait, patiently?

however it is the weekend, enjoy...

a fluttering

Hi,
I'm popping in {interrupting my yellow week posts and this is post no. 2 for today!} to share a little about the latest art cards that are on their way to their homes.

Lately I have been thinking again about painting birds {I used to paint them quite often} and these art cards were the perfect playground to explore this. Each piece has a bird painted within abstract shapes of watercolor and iridescent paints and they also have X shapes of letterpress type blind embossed into the surface. And as always, each piece is completely unique.

What a joy and blessing these have been to make for each sweet subscriber. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to make you tiny pieces of art each month! I hope you will enjoy them.

These bird paintings were the final installment for the art card subscriptions and now I think I will take a hiatus from offering new subscriptions. However, I have an idea simmering which I may share with you as soon as next week.

And now I smell the spicy oven fries cooking in the oven so I better go see how they're coming along.

have a nice evening,
H
