I really think I'm going to have to make some homemade biscuits this weekend, I've been kind of craving them, with butter and preserves. How about you? Are you cooking anything?

good morning

Good morning!

How are you today? My week has been quite busy and by the number of unread feeds I have in my bloglines I can tell you've been busy too! I hope to visit you tonight, I don't like missing how you are and what you're doing. :)

I would like to tell you how sweet this lady and her family are [but you already know]. They posted a little suprise that really just made my heart sing. Thank you A.
The photo above is another view of our pair yesterday. I am captivated by all the shadowy fluff and willowy lines in her image. I look forward to our project every single day because Alicia is just the best to work with. She really, really is.

You know the sunny, warm photo of Jen's from our September Inspired? She has another "stack up" photo just listed in her shop.

Did I forget to mention that Tuesday we posted a new echoes collection?

In each collaboration I feel so fortunate to work alongside beautifully talented artists and catch glimpses of what they are seeing. I'm learning more about the act of "seeing" and more about these ladies. And I love that. Thank you Alicia, Rachel, Emily, and Jen.

I was going to tell you about the other project I worked on that I hinted about. For now, here is a link, and here, to explain [since I have blabbed way more than I thought]. There's a stellar line-up of artists involved so I hope you'll go see! [Perhaps next week I'll give you a bigger peek at my part in it.]

One last thing, I will be adding a few pieces to the shop this evening around 6pm. cst.

Thank you for reading all this! I'll 'see' you soon.

Inspired : September

Hello,
Jen's September Inspired photo {above} makes me so happy; the yellow dot shapes, the strings, the layers, the softness. I'm just gonna sit here and look at it, ok? {She's posting my piece for September too.}

Today >>>
> I mailed the first art cards off to their homes! The whole process of making the art, and the pinhole name cards, tucking them inside their sleeves & paper bags, tying them with ribbon, writing the little notes with a quill and ink,,, it all was so special to me. I hope each person will like their tiny art pieces.
> I worked on an exciting project, which I hope to be able to tell you about soon, I'm waiting for the a|ok from the project coordinator.
> My allergies are driving me insane, so I picked up some new medicine, I hope it works.
> Have you seen Shari & Sheri's new endeavor?
> I love animals and this sweet dog story.
> The sun returned!

How was your day?

a rainbow...

...of promise & hope.

Last evening I stepped outside when I noticed the light seemed suddenly warm. I looked east and there was this beautiful double rainbow. It reminds me that on days of hurricanes, train collisions, and other events, there are still rainbows.

The week ahead feels full of promises, it will be busy, but also good I think. Tomorrow Jen and I will show you the new Inspired pieces for this month. And soon I have an exciting project to tell you about.

till soon,
H

on paper

Good afternoon,
I'm on my [self-imposed] quick lunch break and wanted to give you a glance inside the studio today. The top image shows paper pieces I like to have around me, from wonderful people. And below, I'm finishing up the art cards for subscribers and will send them out this coming Monday, yay! I'm having fun making them and am getting ready to add the pinhole details after I make this post.

I really like working on paper. Well actually, the word 'love' is more appropriate here. I do love it. I love the tactility of the paper's surface; from the smoothness of my favorite watercolor paper to the bumpy pattern of a common paper towel. And I do save all my watercolor blotters [you can see the stack in the photo].

Paper yumminess-
+ the most beautiful letterpress personalized bookplates, made by my friend Christy.
+ doily coasters made from newspapers.
+ and I know there were more links I wanted to share but now I don't know where I put them. oh well. later.

And a couple thank you's to Julie and to Ez.

If I don't see you before the weekend, have a great one!
