good morning to you,

How are you today? Did you have a nice weekend? Mine was a pretty good studio weekend . I'm looking forward to going back up there in just a little bit to work on a couple pieces I started.
I also went shopping and got a few tops and a skirt, I never go shopping and I never wear skirts. woah.

Thanks for all your kind comments here and at Stephanie's interview with me. Guess what, Stephanie is featured today on Poppytalk and it's her birthday today! yay!
Also hooray for Jan as Poppytalk Handmade Market is featured today on Daily Candy.

Today Alicia & I will be back on track with the Noticing Project after a week's respite.

alrighty, I hope your Monday treats you nicely,
H

ps. I added new things to the shop this weekend including the last of the wallpaper pattern pinhole series.

dots and dashes

Good morning to you,

It seems I was just sitting here a moment ago typing 'yay! it's friday!'. And look where we are now. Friday! Summer is really flying past like a jet plane. Does it feel that way to you?

- You may see me over here today, at Stephanie Levy's blog, a studio with a view. She does a series of interviews with artists who blog, go check out her previous interviews. They're a really good read! Oh and she just updated her shop with some brand new collages in gorgeous citrus colors. I like this one.

- I'm really enjoying making work for echoes; letting that work be the punctuation at the end of my day and making it without the critics in my head.

- I put a new things in the shop yesterday, including piece three from the oceans and wheat series, detail above.

- Today's my teaching day. I wonder what I'll learn from the children today?

- I'd like to do more work in our garden, hammer out some paperwork, and make some new pieces this weekend. And maybe just take a lazy stroll downtown to get some ice cream. What are you up to?

have a good one and until soon,

on a quiet day

[a little flower in our garden]

Good evening to you,

How are you? Can you believe it's already mid-week? nope, me neither.

I've been feeling quiet today, for no particular reason. I walked downtown twice today [running errands] and enjoyed noticing the light on the sidewalks forming different shapes as it shone through the tree leaves.

I got to see Alicia and her family and Rachel and her girls last night. We all got together for dinner here in Lawrence. Yay! That's been about the social highlight of the week.

What has the highlight of your week so far? I hope you're having a bright one.

until soon,
H

still celebrating

hi everyone!

Thank you for stopping by with your happy anniversary wishes, I was blown away by your comments!

Yesterday we had a super picnic on the expansive front lawn of the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art. It was delicious and then we spent three hours looking at art inside the museum.
In addition to the Nelson's permanent collections we saw the print show and the sparks show. My head is still fluttering around and connecting ideas that I had while walking around the museum.
Then we went to the Plaza, into Papersource, and ate dinner out. It was a gorgeous day and I feel I'm still in that mindset today.

This morning I did manage to complete the finishing touches on an eight [piece] [pinhole] [commission] that I'd been working on a while for a buyer. Whew! I feel like I accomplished something in doing so. Collectors like that come along so rarely, what a gem!

Now I MUST go try to accomplish something in our garden, in the battle against the weeds. I feel a little defeated there. Ok, a LOT defeated. Except, our broccoli is fantastic this year, and I took a picture I was going to show you, but I think my camera ate it. pooey.

ok, I hope your weekend was fabulous in all the fun things you did!
