Inspired : July

Hi!

How's your weekend been? Full of good times with family and good food perhaps?

Here's the next piece for our Inspired project. In case you aren't familiar with the project, this is Jen's photo for July and this month I will make a piece inspired by her image. She's posted my first piece for July and from that she will make a response. I'm loving this collaboration!

Well Monday already seems like it will be a rather exciting [and busy] day. A new project/collaboration with a few of my favorite gals will be revealed; you will be getting an invitation; and I'm having a big shop update with brand new work.

Oh, and I finally made the chocolate pie! I don't know why I didn't sooner, it's so yummy.

Oh and have you seen Jen's new summer shop goodies?

See you tomorrow with lots of fun things!

Good Friday morning to you,

Yesterday I received Jen's Inspired June response in the mail and I always open the mailer with haste [because I'm so excited to see!] but gently because it is so special. I love how her piece has a handwritten note "follow me" with the sweet peas, it's evokes a sense of mystery to me. Mmmm, I adore this project. Thank you for letting us share it with you. I hope you'll go see our other June pair too.

I hope you have a good weekend ahead of you. I want to make a beet salad, we have a lot of beets right now! And I WILL make that chocolate pie! Oh, I found out my sister arrived safely in Poland, hooray! And Monday I'll be adding to the shop the last pieces from my sunprint series [sneak peek here] and some pinhole pieces.

have a good long weekend!

gathering my thoughts...

Hi,

Do you ever have one of those days where you feel like you're so totally in your own head & thoughts you don't even know what's whirling about in the world beyond? That was today for me.

I was thinking a lot about my sister who is now in the air on her way to Poland.
I was thinking about my work, which is always there.
I was thinking about a new something that is brewing and will be revealed on Monday.
I was thinking about how I said I was going to make that chocolate pie and I haven't yet!

|and lastly but not leastly|
I was thinking about how great you are for all your cheers, thoughts, and comments about my new website. Thank you so much! [I replied to your comments in yesterday's comment post.] You make this blogging all worth while!

What's in your head today?

Good evening to you,

How has Tuesday been treating you? I hope nicely. My day has been a little different in terms of the routine, but it's been good.

I'm thinking about :
+ My sister leaves for Poland tomorrow for a ten day mission trip. [I'm thinking about you Roo.]
+ Thank you Lisa!
+ I am really wanting to make a chocolate pie. I can't even remember the last time I did. I've got my mom's pie crust and chocolate filling recipe cards out and ready.
+ My new website is up, I'd love for you to go take a peek. There's more to come and I have ideas to start an online sketchbook there so I'm mentally clarifying all that.

sending a smile your way,

Good morning friends,

How was your weekend? Did you play outside I hope? It was gorgeous here so I worked all afternoon in the garden on Sunday. I did some weeding [which is a never-ending task] and planted some annuals in beds where the tulips & daffodils had finished. By the studio I planted dusty miller and some ornamental chili peppers. Do you know, are the ornamental variety also edible? Anyway, it looks much better.

Last night while I was working on my new website [which will hopefully be up in a few days] my husband cooked. He stirred up beets, kohlrabi, sugar snaps [all from our garden], and mushrooms & onions on top of cooked millet. He called it "a thunderstorm". I think I'm handing over the apron for good.

This week Jen and I look forward to sharing our June Inspired responses and the first July pieces.

I hope your day is beautiful,
H
