flowers and facets

Good morning,

Thank you all for rooting me on with this new venture of the Poppytalk Handmade Market. I appreciate it so much! [If you are unfamiliar with the PHM, it is a wonderful online market where vendors get to have a 'table' to display their items, and then it links to their individual online shops.]

I have been very busy making new work and I'm really happy with it. That always gives me a good feeling. Today I will be continuing work on this new series above called "flowers and facets". It is a series of watercolor paintings that are on 5 in. x 5 in. paper. I have made six thus far and will have no more than twenty in the set. "Flowers and facets" is the first theme in this size and there will be different themes periodically.

I hope your week is going well, it's nearly Friday! Tomorrow is my husband's birthday so there will be cake making going on. I haven't chosen a recipe yet. What do you recommend? I asked him what kind of cake he wants and he said "there's no cake I would refuse". so there you go. I think I agree with him.

{Whew.} Good evening everyone! {sorry I had to take a deep breath first.}

How are you today? I'm glad to read some of you are feeling better.

It's been a great studio day here now that I stop and think about it. I will be sharing new work with you bit by bit but will tell you now I :
1] am starting a new limited series of small SQUARE pieces with the theme of "facets & flowers". [think of them as a kind of new 'mini']
2] have new 4 x 6 inch pieces, example above
3] will be incorporating a baby gift CUSTOM ORDER piece AND
4] have some new pinhole cards in the works with text.

{deep breath again}

NOW. FOR THE NEWS that I wanted to share with you. I am excited to say that starting Monday, May 12 I will be having a table on the Poppytalk Handmade Market! The theme is 'Paper Pops! A Papergoods & Affordable Art Market & Showcase'. I've been making all this new work to coincide with the launching of this opportunity and will be adding it to the shop throughout this week and continually during the market. So a big thank you goes out to Jan for allowing me to be part of it!

I'll see you at Rachel's shop update tomorrow at 3 pm. cst. and at Alicia's anticipated update hopefully soon.

thank you for letting me share all this with you!
Heather

Inspired : May

Good Monday evening to y-o-u,
Thank you for joining me to see what's new with our Inspired collaboration. Jen's image above brings to my mind new beginnings, with the to-be-filled cups and crochet work. I really like the moment when I first see her new pieces and let my mind overflow with ideas... She will be posting my first piece for May soon.

This photo of emily's coconut cupcakes is really making me feel calm and happy after a long day of taking preschool children [in the morning a-n-d afternoon] on a field trip to the fire station. I'm a little tuckered.

Tomorrow or Wednesday, I have an announcement that I'm excited to share with you!

What's coming to your mind tonight? I hope it's filling you with peace.
Heather

Inpsired : 3

I just heard you gasp didn't I? That's exactly what I did when I opened up the mailer and saw this photo above of Jen's. It struck me. And then I immediately put our two pieces next to one another like this. I like how this pair seems to be two parts to the same story, something I love about collaborating. When I scanned these two today I noticed I had written a little note on the back of mine while I was drawing it, "a slight breeze blows in". And now it seems the slight breeze planted the petals lying in Jen's photo. If you haven't seen our other pair for April Jen has it posted here.

Tomorrow we'll share our first pieces for May. Thank you so much for looking at our pieces and allowing us to share this project with you.

Have a wonderful Sunday,
Heather

something new

Good Saturday to you today,

How are you this weekend? Thank you all for attending {via sweet comments} the opening reception last night of the Modern Spring show, it was great to 'see' you in your party shoes and all!

I want to share something new with you. I have some original pinhole enclosure cards in sets of five. I added a couple sets the other day to the shop and they sold right away, to the "fastest mouse clicker in the west" {thank you!}. Today I am adding three new ones, in eco-white, pool blue, and poppy orange to the shop. Like I said they're something new so I'd love to know what you think. I'm also thinking about adding a couple other colors, possibly a custom order version. Any color ideas?

And my perfectbound special is on through Sunday.

Tomorrow Jen & I will share our Inspired duos. {yippee}

enjoy your day,
Heather
