A little quick post of some favorites {Yes, this makes the second day in a row for a mosaic post. What can I say? I'm just enjoying all your pictures right now!} :

light and white in recent days

Good morning,
I feel a little overwhelmed with goodness the past couple days and am kind of without too many words right now. You have flooded me with good thoughts here and at our Noticing Project. And you have been so nice and supportive with mentions on your blogs. I thank you.

Even more exciting happenings and projects are in the works. {!!!}
Today is my studio day.
And it has snowed.
So I feel like posting the above images of glimpses of light and white in recent days around here. I had hoped for a brighter week and am thankful that it certainly is. Is yours?

I see photos of snow in the future today.

Heather

p.s. I added {this photography collaborative} Fresh Pears to my reader today.

new work : new store!

        "SHOW ME THE WAY TODAY", graphite, watercolor, pinholes on paper, 5in. x 7in., 2008. available

        "wait here whilst I...", graphite, colored pencil, watercolor, acrylic, pinholes on paper, 5in. x 7in., 2008. available

Hello!

As mentioned, I want to share with you drawings that I've just completed. Also, I have been working {with some very good help} to set them up online to purchase. {yippee} Click available to go to the store at the Smith Galleries website.

a little note about the work :
I make drawings that are austere because I feel it gives the individual stories space to bloom with meaning. And to me, within each story there is the notion of promise.
I hope you will like them.

And I hope your day blooms,
Heather

p.s. New place to visit: blog of Andrea Tachezy, a book artist. {She commented here yesterday. Thank you!}

working on...

      ...a new little something {with some very good help}, but for now a little peek from the studio at work in progress.

I was so happy when I got home yesterday after work to find all the sweet comments you left about what you are looking forward to... yoga class, a brighter week, a photoshoot (I'm curious about that Julie!), a new attitude for a new week, new watercolors & birthday parties, and slowing down to enjoy the snow. It made me so happy to know what is going on with you and hear your hopes! Which reminds me, Karin has tagged me with the question, "Do you have any long-time wishes or heart-projects?" Hers is to write a children's book. And Teeni tagged me too {before Christmas, while I was on vacation. eek. I'm so behind! Sorry Teeni!} with a colorful friend award. Hhhm, these call for some thoughtful consideration...

Cally wrote an epically beautiful post yesterday about pierced paper work, including hers, mine and others. Thank you Cally, it is so stunning! I hope you'll go see...

I hope Tuesday fulfills your aspirations,
Heather

ps. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!! Bu is still looking for his party hat.

what can a january monday be?

      {a calm weekend here.}

Good Monday all,

How are you today? You're ready for a new week aren't you? Are those groans I am hearing? I'm with you. But I must say I wake up most mornings now wondering what there will be to notice. It makes January endurable and more interesting. And I certainly walk home after teaching on M-W-F's with a quicker step knowing I will see what lovely photo Alicia has taken for the day! {Did you see that Amanda Soule linked to our project on her blog? Thank you Amanda. I like her post today too.}

Throughout the week I want to share with you six new drawings and there may be a surprise or two {I hope} as well. Last week for me was in the doldrums so I am happy {and hoping} for a brighter week. We may get a little snow by Wednesday which could be lovely.

What are you looking forward to this week?

Heather
