new week : new month

Good Monday to you!

It's the beginning of a new week and a new month. White. Fresh. Open to possibilities. {If only this truly was my cheerful mood on Monday mornings!}

The photo above shows various views of current progress on my WALLPAPER PINHOLE PROJECT that I've been wanting to share with you.

Saturday I went to the Holiday Art Fair here in town and bought this necklace made by Ann Andersson of Swede at Heart Designs : Her website : her etsy shop : and I just discovered her blog. Ordinarily I would NOT buy something for myself this close to Christmas, but it's a lovely piece for a sweet young person. She is donating a large part of the retail price to help with Caden's medical bills. At the Fair I also ran into another friend who is a painter, Laura Nugent : her flickr. She and I met a year and a half ago when we both were taking a print workshop at the Arts Center.

Go see pictures of a great Christmas Market here, on Bibbi's post.

I hope your new week and month begin well,
Heather

making stars on a sunday afternoon

Hello all,

I hope you're enjoying the remaining hours of your weekend. I don't know if I will get used to the sun going down at 4 o'clock. At least at the winter solstice the days will start getting longer again.

Today I've made a few more stars; I really like making multiples of things, for some reason. {Maybe I take after my dad in that respect. He was a ceramist for many years and made lots of everything; mugs, dinnerware, candle holders, lamps, casseroles etc. Maybe he'll send me a photo of his work for me to share with you sometime.}

I know Susan and Teeni had interesting weekends in Rochester with the bomb scare incident. Go read their posts. And while you're visiting Susan, notice the window dressing she did this weekend at artstream. I especially like this image she took of her display.

It's time to start thinking about cooking dinner. I'd like to make granola tonight too, we'll see if that happens. Sadly, we've about finished all the cookies mom sent us. Did you cook or bake anything this weekend?

Until tomorrow,
Heather

on mama's tray

Hello all,
I hope you have a great ending to your week today! It seems there is alot going on this weekend. What do you have planned?

Tonight we are excited to see the new work of a friend of ours, Justin Marable. He's a printmaker and is having an opening reception tonight {Friday} at Signs of Life. Around town tomorrow is the Christmas parade and The Lawrence Art Guild Holiday Market.

Jen's winter wonders shop opens tomorrow. I look forward to seeing her new lovely items!

And we are under a winter weather advisory for tonight. Brr.

Take care and enjoy the day,
Heather

new star mini

Hello friends and family,

I worked in the studio today on my WALLPAPER PINHOLE PROJECT and will share that progress with you soon. This is a new star mini ornament {about 1.5 inches} I made the other evening. I think I will make a bunch of them to adorn my studio charlie brown tree {branch}. I have been making some other ornaments recently that I will share soon too.

My parents sent us a tin of homemade cookies today. My mom loves to make cookies, she's already made 28 varieties this season! Thank you Mom and Dad! {We've tried one of each on the top layer already.}

I think I'll go have a cookie, see you soon!...
