hello!

Well hello! How are you? I feel I have been away from this space a long time! Did you have a good Christmas, and a relaxing time with family? I hope so. We had a wonderful visit with mine at the beach and now we are back in Kansas.

I'm trying to get my bearings today. Yet I am sitting here looking at beach photos and procrastinating all the cleaning I need to do. But I think I'm about geared up to get that knocked out. Because after I finish cleaning I will work in the studio! Ideas are forming in my mind {inspired by winter, the sand and ocean, and austere imagery} and I'm excited to paint, draw, and print them out. It's such a good feeling, to have new ideas!

In the shop, I just marked 20% off half the stock of my original art and letterpress goods.

I'll be back here in a day or two to wish you happy new year and share some news!

thank you

[the glorious sunset tonight]

Hi friends,

I am thrilled to tell you I just completed the donation process to Habitat for Humanity International with your gracious help. Thank you to all of you for your kind words, support and purchases of the sequin hearts from my shop over the past number of weeks. Thirty-five hearts sold {far beyond what I imagined!} and the 40% profits that went to Habitat could purchase the following supplies :

25 boxes of nails OR
2 1/2 kitchen sinks OR
3 1/2 windows OR
5 low flow toilets OR
1 front door + 1 kitchen sink

The proceeds will go to "help build houses and hope" in the most needed areas. Thank you so much for your aid in this project!!!

And with that in mind and heart I will be taking a break here for a bit to celebrate Christmas and spend time with family. I'll likely pop in at flickr and of course we will finish out the year at the Noticing Project!

I hope you have a blessed Christmas dear friends!

Inspired : December

[Jen's lovely December piece]

Hi friends,

I can hardly believe we are nearing the end of 2008 and that it will mark the end of Inspired. This project has graced my life and I've been honored, so honored to work with Jen. I'm not really sure I can find the words right now that I want to share about this experience. So perhaps by the time we show our final pairs in the new year, I will have found them. Until then, thank you for joining us and if you'd like to see my first December piece, Jen has posted it here.

I hope to pop in before I take a wee blog break to share something I promised.

joy to you,
H

last minute...

Hi,

While it snows away outside, I'm inside printing a last minute project to give. This antique copper type is so nice, it prints beautifully.

Yesterday closed out the sale of sequin hearts and the response to this project far exceeded my expectations! I'll return later in the week and share the amount that will go to Habitat for Humanity, if you're interested. Thank you so much for your kind words and support!

I better get back to work, and get a little something to eat.

you stay warm,
H

more cinnamon bread

Hi,

Just popping my head in to tell you hello. :)

Last night I made more cinnamon swirl bread to give to a few friends at church. I discovered that recipe will make four loaves that are about 8 in. x 4 in. So I gave three and kept one. This time I rolled the dough thinner which of course made it more swirly and cinnamon-y, yum.

Alrighty, I have much crafting to do this afternoon, so I think I'll make some tea and get at it.

I hope you're having a special day,
H
