some creative news

on Creature Comforts

Good morning friends,

First I'm excited about Hannah's interview with Shari today and her big news! She's opening up her own shop this Sunday at 3pm. cst to sell her wonderful photos. I think I'll forgo my Sunday nap in favor of this shop opening!

Next, I'm starting an artists reciprocal links community at the bottom of my sidebar as a way to support artists and their livelihood.
Please email me if you have any questions about it.

I'm putting a few petite pinhole pieces in my shop,,, right now!

a mid-afternoon hello to you!

I'm popping in quickly on this mid-afternoon to say hello to you! I hope your day is going well, mine is quite the rollercoaster!
Thank you Holly {decor8} for including my work/shop on your Etsy Take Five post today! What a wonderful surprise it was to see! Go check out Holly's etsy slideshows on Domino; and you'll see Jen's dogwood {personal fave of mine} piece featured.

Emily, this photo is for you. I promised you a couple weeks ago I'd share some of my old wallpaper scrapings. They are merely fragments, but I find them interesting and inspiring nonetheless.

SHOP UPDATE : I will be putting just four small pinhole pieces in the shop this Thursday at 10am cst. Today I'm adding two framed pieces, with handmade watercolor and pinhole. I hope you can stop by!

Ok, gotta get back to work,

a friday story

"Found: six 4 leaf clovers and reason", graphite, handmade watercolor on paper, image 9in. x 12in., framed 17in. x 20in.

Good Friday morning friends,
Inhale, exhale, ahhhh. It's Friday. Yesterday felt like a Monday to me, I'm not sure why but I couldn't get a steady momentum going. oh well.

I mentioned yesterday that I'll be part of a show in L.A. next month. Today I want to introduce a piece that will be part of a show at Artstream Gallery in N.H. beginning in early May {more details about the show soon}. If you click the image it will take you to a story, or my commentary about part of the piece. Here's a preview of additional work in mind for the show.

Thank you for all your nice comments yesterday and support for the L.A. show! I appreciate you every day.

Have a beautiful Friday,
Heather

K.C. in L.A.

"Formation V, wagonwheel", pinholes on paper, image size 8 in.x 8 in. paper size 14 in. x 14 in.

Good morning,
It's grey and a little drizzly here today. So I think I will cut a few daffodils {that are now blooming!} to bring in to brighten things up a bit. Last night I was grumpy and since it was a teaching day I hadn't made anything all day. So at 11:30 last night, when I should have already been asleep I made a couple little drawings. That helped. I really do have to make something every single day or I don't feel like myself.

Some exciting news to share:
This pinhole piece of mine along with 1-2 others are going to be part of an invitational show of K.C. artists in L.A. next month at Milo Gallery. I think it will be a great show and just wanted to share it with you!

I'm loving all the yellow I'm seeing, aren't you? Where have you seen some nice yellow?

Soon {in a few days!} it will be time to share our next installment of Inspired, something else I'm looking forward to.

hoping sunshine is around the corner for us all,
Heather
